Your party. Your friends.
One of them is a murderer.
Host a murder mystery party with nothing to print and nothing to install. Every guest gets a private invitation link with their secret character, a costume idea, and clues that unlock act by act on the night.
How it works
Set up takes about three minutes. Your guests only need their phones.
Add your guests
Type in your guests' names. Cast them yourself, or let fate decide who plays whom. Nobody, not even you, learns who the killer is.
Send the invitations
Each guest gets a private link with their character, a costume idea and how to play the part. Text it, WhatsApp it, email it.
Unmask the killer
On the night, you announce a password for each act. Secrets and clues unlock on everyone's phone. At midnight, break the seal on the solution.
Choose your mystery
Every mystery works for 6 to 12 players. Any guest can play any character.
Death at the Hollowmoor Masquerade
Every year, the perfumer Vesper Hollowmoor throws the most talked-about Halloween masquerade in the county. This year, every guest received a black envelope with a handwritten note: "I know what you did. Come to the masquerade and find out what I intend to do about it." By half past ten, Vesper is dead in the glass conservatory, and every guest had a reason to want the midnight announcement silenced.
- A carefully plotted mystery with a fair solution. Every clue you need is at the party, even with only 6 players.
- Every character has a secret to protect, so everyone has something to do, not just the murderer.
- Characters work for anyone. Any guest can play any role.
- Three acts, a read-aloud script for the host, and a sealed solution with a twist for every guest.
Wear layers of black lace and velvet, a veil, silver rings and a crystal pendant.
Your secrets unlock on the night.
Who will your friends be?
Free for up to 8 players. More guests? Pair them up: two guests can share one character.
Vesper's only living relative and, until recently, the presumed heir to the Hollowmoor fortune and the Nocturne perfume empire. Charming, restless, and famously bad at sitting still.
Vesper's personal physician and oldest friend. Calm, precise, and never seen without a battered black medical bag.
A celebrated spiritualist who claims to speak with the dead. Vesper hired Marlowe to read tarot at the masquerade, from the candlelit alcove beside the conservatory's ballroom door.
Has run Hollowmoor Hall for twenty-five years. Knows every creaking floorboard, every hidden door, and exactly how Vesper takes the tea: valerian, no sugar, at ten o'clock sharp.
Head of the small Ashby perfume house. For thirty years the Ashbys have claimed that Vesper's legendary scent, Nocturne, was stolen from their family's formula notebook.
Vesper's business partner and the money behind Hollowmoor Perfumes. Loud, generous, and always the last to leave the bar.
Writes the most feared society column in the country. If you have a secret, Frankie wants it.
Bestselling author of gothic horror. Avery's debut novel, The Night Garden, was set in a house suspiciously like Hollowmoor Hall.
Vesper's young apprentice perfumer, and the only person Vesper ever allowed into the scent laboratory.
Tends Vesper's famous Night Garden, a collection of poisonous plants in the glass conservatory.
The stage magician hired to perform at midnight, famous for making things vanish.
Sold Vesper most of the paintings in the Hollowmoor gallery. Impeccable taste, questionable ethics.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The full mystery for 6 to 8 players is free, with no sign-up and no ads. A paid Party Pass for bigger parties is on the way.
Does anyone need to download an app?
No. Everything runs in the phone's web browser. Guests just tap the link you send them.
Can the host play too?
Yes. The host page has a read-aloud script and the act passwords, but no spoilers. The solution stays sealed until you break the seal at the end.
How long does a game take?
About two hours: three acts of mingling and accusing, then the big reveal. You can stretch it over dinner.
Do you store my guests' names?
No. The whole game lives inside the links themselves. Names never reach our server. Keep your host link safe: it is the only copy.
What if I have more than 8 guests?
Pair guests up: two people can share one character and scheme together. It works surprisingly well.
